The Vietnamese Government has announced an important policy update regarding visa exemptions for citizens from 12 countries.
As per Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP, issued on 7th March 2025, travelers from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland will benefit from visa exemption starting 15th March 2025 until 14th March 2028.
This visa exemption policy allows citizens from these 12 nations to enter Vietnam without a visa for a temporary stay of up to 45 days, regardless of the type of passport or the purpose of their visit, provided they meet all entry conditions set by Vietnamese immigration laws.
The visa-free entry period will be in effect from 15 March 2025 to 14 March 2028. However, the visa exemption policy may be extended in accordance with Vietnamese law after its expiration.
It’s important to note that the previous visa exemption resolutions, including Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP (15 March 2022) and Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP (14 August 2023), will no longer be valid after 15 March 2025.
