FAQs

1. Is Vietnam a safe destination to visit?
In contrast to popular opinion, Vietnam is among the safest travel destinations. However, pickpockets and thieves may operate in busy areas and on motorbikes, just like anywhere else in the world. These incidents are more likely to occur in Ho Chi Minh City than in Hanoi. During your travel, you should remain cautious at all times to prevent these situations. As a result, we recommend that you do not bring valuables, such as expensive watches and jewelry, while out and about.

2. When is the ideal time to visit Vietnam?
The weather in Vietnam varies by region. May through September is hot and muggy with lots of rain in Hanoi and the north; November through April is colder and drier. December and January can be extremely cold in the far north. Central Vietnam experiences hot, dry weather from January to August, with temperatures reaching the mid-30°C; significant quantities of rainfall can occur in September, October, and November. Southern Vietnam is normally dry and hot from November to April, and warm and wet from May to October, with the most rainfall in June, July, and August.

3. What should I pack for a holiday in Vietnam?

Remember not to overpack, as we advise in all of our packing lists. It's not really necessary to bring much with you, much like in other Asian nations.

It's important to take the weather and the activities you want to engage in into account when making travel plans to Vietnam. Vietnam has tropical climates, with summers that are hot and muggy and winters that are colder and wetter.

As a result, lightweight, breathable clothing and comfortable walking/hiking shoes are essential. You could also wish to bring goods like swimsuit for beach activities or rain gear for trekking in the North, depending on what you have planned.

Finally, remember to pack essentials for your vacation to Vietnam, such sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat to protect your skin from the sun! Even though you can purchase items like sunscreen locally, we advise carrying a brand you are already acquainted with because there aren't many choices.

4. What sort of money would you advise using?
Actually, the US currency is now widely accepted in Vietnam, therefore you will be able to spend both US dollars and VND during your trip. The USD is also commonly accepted as payment in major towns and tourist destinations including Hanoi, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City. You can use the USD at the majority of hotels, large retailers, and dining establishments. To make things easier, prices are frequently quoted in US dollars in tourist areas. Furthermore, the official currency of Vietnam is the Vietnam Dong, which is widely acknowledged throughout the country. It is easier for you to pay VND for little products on your daily expenses, including Vietnamese street food and local goods at local markets.

5. Where do you recommend to eat in Vietnam?

It depends on what food you want. You can eat at western restaurants ( French, Italian, Spanish, Jewish...) or Asian restaurants (Vietnamese , Indian , Thai , restaurants, Korean, Japanese...), where they serve their typical dishes. You can also eat Pizza, KFC, Mac Donald, Fish & Chips at food stalls, food chains and cafe's. We recommend trying at least once at a street food restaurant during your visit, which will add to your experiences of Vietnam. The most typical dishes & drinks of Vietnam include: Nem (spring rolls), Pho, Bun (noodles), Bun Cha ( noodles with barbecued pork)

11. Will I have the same guide for all destinations?
Sincere to say, we don't usually send out a single guide to every location; instead, we assign local guides to each location to help you save money for your trip, promote local businesses, and provide you more knowledge about their home communities. These guides are carefully chosen based on their expertise, extensive knowledge, good language and communication skills, professionalism, and personalities. They will not only guide you, but will also become your buddy, interpreter, and trusted partner throughout and after your journey, whom you may call at any moment if you require additional support.

12. Where can I get my money changed?

We advise you to exchange your money as soon as you get to the airport, as there are convenient banks and ATMs with people who speak English. If you are tired after a long flight and do not want to change money straight away, you can exchange cash and travelers' cheque at large hotels or approved foreign exchange banks, which are widely available across Vietnam. Furthermore, though prices will vary, you can always find someone eager to convert dollars into VND wherever you go. When you receive Dong, you will be handed with a large stack of notes. Refuse any badly ripped notes and request a variety of denominations so that you always have a few low-value notes on hand for small payments.
