Hanoi was ranked among the best 10 places in the world for solo travelers: Telegraph
A British newspaper - The Telegraph named Hanoi one of the top 10 places for solo travelers, citing the city's "affordable costs and hospitality."
"Hanoi has widespread WiFi, and SIM cards are reasonably priced for those who prefer to use the local network." There's no shortage of things to discover, from museums and temples to the Old Quarter and the night market, and English is quite widely spoken," The Telegraph noted.
Hanoi is typically safe, but the newspaper warned tourists to beware of classic scams like pickpocketing and taxis taking longer routes to charge more.
It advised using apps for taxi services and making sure the driver's information matched what was provided in the app.
Hanoi is seen as secure for female visitors traveling alone, but they should still take standard precautions such as wearing modest clothing, particularly when visiting temples and be on the lookout for alcohol spikes.
The Telegraph's list of other places to visit includes the Austrian Alps, Honshu, Japan, Lisbon, Portugal, Stockholm, Sweden, Mendoza, Argentina, Oman, and New Zealand.
The Telegraph also cautioned against traveling alone to Egypt, India, Morocco, Porto, and Ibiza.
